Monitors oil/coolant temperature This sensor is used in two locations on BMW's and serves as both an oil temperature and water temperature sensor. As a water temp sensor it is located in the side of the cylinder heads. As an oil temperature sensor it is located in the side of the oil filter stand at the front of the engine. A failed MAP sensor has serious implications on fuel control, vehicle tailpipe emissions and fuel economy. Symptoms of a bad or failing MAP sensor include: 1. Excessive fuel consumption. A MAP sensor that measures high intake manifold pressure indicates high engine load to the PCM. This results in an increase of fuel being injected into the engine. Jan 23, 2014 · Speed density fuel management default (MAF sensor failure). Location of the LS1/LS6 MAP sensor is located on rear of the intake manifold. Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor The MAF sensor is used to measure the amount of air entering the engine. Idle conditions equal a low air flow, and engine under acceleration indicates a high air flow. Temperature Sending Units Installation Instructions 1.) Find a location where temperature can be measured such as the existing sending unit, temperature switch, or pipe fitting normally located on the front of the intake manifold, or on the side of the cylinder head. Use a sending unit with the same thread as the manifold thread, or cylinder head. SOURCE: I am looking for the I.A.T. Sensor location on my truck. If your looking for the Intake Air Temp/Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor (IAT/MAP)(2003 model year and up) It is on the top of the intake manifold, just to the left of the #3 injector fuel line. There are 2 small Torx screws holding it. Posted on May 27, 2009

*On a 1983-85 CFI Mustang the coolant temp sensor is located in the heater hose fitting on the intake *On a 1986-95 EFI Mustang the coolant temp sensor is located in the metal heater tube A fundamental part of regulating air/fuel ratio, ignition timing, and EGR flow. If 82 or later, there is a sensor in the FRONT end where the coolant went in. That's where the factory measured for the electric manifold heater. IS that Holley system sensing coolant temp? If so - front is best as that's true engine temp - by the time it gets to the rear it's losing a bit of heat to the intake and through the intake, to the air.

May 06, 2013 · Close, this is the intake manifold temp sensor on the engine. It is located at the right front corner of the engine under the turbo somewhere. The intake manifold pressure sensor is right next to it. If you unplug the sensor and your active code becomes 105 - 3, that would show a bad sensor. If you unplug your sensor and your code remains 105 - 4, your wiring is shorted somewhere.

The sensor on the coolant outlet is for the gauge on Australian spec vehicles. The one on the block (and the air temp sensor on the manifold),control the glow period. But custom doesn't make a lot of difference. I personally like the one on the coolant outlet for the gauge because its the head that gets damaged 1st. // initialize the touch screen and set location precision.
